What is IPL?
Intense pulse light is a treatment for a variety of benign skin conditions and facial imperfections. It is a non-invasive treatment individually tailored to your specific needs. Outstanding results depend on the knowledge of the skin and the experience of the technician. Treatments are administered in a series of 4-6 sessions. With proper skin care and sun protection post-treatment, an excellent long-term result can be obtained. You can return to work or resume all activities post treatment.
How does IPL work?
The intense pulsed light is changed to heat energy as it reaches to the level of the collagen beneath the skin surface. Sun damage such as red blemishes, broken capillaries, or brown spots called hyperpigmentation respond to the light. An anesthetic topical cream is used to minimize any discomfort and cold gel is used to counteract any heat and to soothe the skin during the treatment.
